Shopping in Barbados, Part 2
Updates to my original post (adding new stores as I visit them) 12-23-2020
This store has everything you could need from a one-stop-shop: household items, toiletries, home decor, garbage cans, sanitizer, paper products! They have name brands like Dove, selling two Caribbean scented soap bars for $5 coconuts! They have snacks, seasonal items, and other hidden gems, and everything is at, around or under $5 coconuts!
Hardware store at Sheraton Mall among other locations. Great selection of home improvement supplies, including our awesome mini tiki torches, coolers, outdoor gear, household items, tools, pet supplies, beach gear, etc - plus a large seasonal second level with Christmas toys and decorations. I liken Do It Best to Lowe's or Ace, where Kooyman's is more like Home Depot.
We stopped in before Massy's one day to see if they had tennis balls for Bow (she loses them far too frequently). We were both quickly distracted by the random assortment of goodies, walking out with our new paddle ball game (SO fun, my new favorite game), tennis balls, scuba masks with snorkels, and balloons for the babies to play with. Lopez asked about a discount if we purchased two snorkel sets and we were given 10% off our total. The lovely staff and eclectic mix of used books, kids' arts and crafts, sports equipment, and other unexpected trinkets will make me a repeat customer.
The closest thing Barbados has to Walgreens. I spent a good chunk of time here at Sheraton and was pleased to find everything I needed to pretty up for Christmas and New Year's. Faith got vitamin serum for her hair, I purchased makeup, hair dye, and a new manicure set. Highly enjoyable and reasonable prices. Everything else you'd need for last minute stop, including snacks, drinks, stocking stuffers, cleaning products, etc. Plus a pharmacy!
